Small Modular Nuclear Reactors (SMNR’s) are not small. Holtec’s designs would provide over 300 MW (megawatts). The original nuclear power plant at Big Rock Point produced 67 MW. They’re not safe, will produce dangerous high-level radioactive waste, and trade away safety for reduced costs.

Holtec has never before designed, constructed or operated a nuclear reactor.

Arnie Gundersen, a nuclear engineer who was an industry whistleblower, now with the nonprofit Fairewinds Associates, recently gave a talk on Small Modular Nuclear Reactors, focusing on Holtec International. His full presentation will be posted soon.
